STORM LATEST: 6.30 GMT: Will Form Wednesday Night, Skim Oman Hit South Iran

The expected tropical storm Keila's birth is delayed. It will form on Wednesday night near the Ratnagiri (India, Maharashtra) coast and then move to Southern Iran. It will just skim the north Oman coast Sunday evening, June 12, 20011. Southern Iranian town of Chahbahar and Jask will bear the full impact. Pakistani ports of Gwadar and Jiwani will be badly hit too Sunday late evening, June 12.

  • Keila's birth has been postponed till Wednesday late evening. Her place of origin? Near the Ratnagiri coast of Maharashtra (India).
  • It will start as a small tropical storm. It will gain strength on June 9, 2011 Thursday late evening.
  • By June 12, Sunday late evening it will hit southern Iran and some parts of south-western coastal Pakistan. The targets? Chahbahar in Iran, Gwadar, Jiwani and Pasni in Pakistan.
  • Keila is going to be a monster. Wind speeds by the time it makes landfall will 120+ Kmph. May be much more.
  • Northern parts of Oman (including Muscat) will be mostly saved. But it may receive rainfall and winds.
  • Omani town of Khasab will receive rainfall by Monday (June 13) night.
