Good Rainfall In Vidarbha, Telangana, Andhra In Coming Days

JUNE 1, 2017, THURSDAY

Despite the fact that the progress of monsoon will come to a near halt by June 4, 2017, along the Indian west coast, good rains are expected almost daily in parts of Maharashtra (Vidarbha), Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

This will happen because the moist winds from the Arabian Sea will meet with the moisture thrown into India by the Bay of Bengal. So while Mumbai, Gujarat wait patiently for the monsoon to start moving again, this belt in the heart of India will receive good precipitation in the coming days.

As we have said earlier the momentum upwards of the Arabian Sea branch of monsoon will be deflated by a low pressure area in the Arabian Sea that is expected around June 4-5. Now this system will meander around in the sea reaching the area off the central Oman coast by June 9.

Meanwhile the monsoon will awaken from it's slumber on June 8-9 with a fresh rain system gathering off the Konkan coast. Mumbai will receive its first monsoon rains on June 9.

Meanwhile western Madhya Pradesh and southeast Rajasthan will receive good rains on June 8-9. Gujarat will see substantial showers by June 10.

The feverish activity off the Konkan coast by June 10 may throw up a low pressure system. That is what the American GFS model believes.

Even on June 10 the Bay of Bengal low pressure system will be at sea with little inclination to move into India.

Monsoon will lose steam soon as the LPA (Low Pressure Area) will take away the rain clouds back into sea.
